You’re invited: Grilling up a neighborhood BBQ in Chadds Ford

Traditional neighborhood block parties aren’t exactly easy in Chadds Ford unless we want to fire up the grill along Route 1 or put our lives in the hands of speedsters on Webb Road. 🏎️ Thanks, but no thanks.

With some gumption, though, the Chadds Ford Township Residents Association decided to host a neighborhood BBQ anyway. They’ll be damned if they can’t find a way for neighbors to hang out at a classic summer get-together despite our “country-roads-turned-raceways” infrastructure.

So mark your calendar for Sunday, June 14. Grab your family and head on over to the party! 🍔

The Chadds Ford Township Residents Association is hosting a backyard cookout at Rob and Robin Newman’s home on Webb Road. They’ll have pool access, cornhole, horseshoes, croquet, a 50/50 raffle, and a hot grill serving hot food for everyone.

The party runs from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. Tickets are $20 per person or $40 for a family of four. Be sure to register in advance (get tickets here) so the Newmans know how much food to prepare.

The Newmans are no strangers to large parties, so they’re happy to host a big crowd. Welcoming lots of neighbors to their home felt natural. Add it to your weekend plans and come out to meet up with local friends. I spoke with Rob this week, and he reiterated that we should all bring our neighbors and have a great time!

The money raised supports CFTRA’s work: hosting future events like the Trunk or Treat and the Holiday Tree Lighting Event, as well as scholarships for local students. It’s good fun for a good cause. 🫶🏻
