A pumpkin-smashing success!

No pumpkins harmed while hosting this event. 🧡

The trunk-or-treat collab between the Chadds Ford Elementary PTO and the Chadds Ford Township Residents Association was a pumpkin-smashing success on Saturday night. Organizers estimated around 300 attendees, and the crisp fall weather could not have been more perfect.

Kids ran around like kids should. The littles collected candy (hopefully of their parents’ favorite varieties as much as their own). Amiright, parents? Older kiddos may or may not have visited my witchy cauldron of candy more than once, but we had plenty of candy for the occasion.

Neighbors chatted and connected. We put faces to names and put plenty of chocolate in our bellies. Maybe that second part was just me. 🙈

Here are some snippets from the event.

I scored a serious win with my trunk decor. I borrowed almost all of it from a friend after she hosted her trunk-or-treat a day earlier. “All the things” cost $0, shared community abundance, made my life much easier, and “arrived” way faster than Amazon’s 2-day shipping.

Friends, can we ditch Amazon Prime?! Pretty please. I’ve been Amazon Prime-free for years. I’ve saved hundreds of dollars not paying the annual fee, supported local businesses instead, and I’m still here to tell about it. psst… You can still order from Amazon occasionally without paying for Prime. 💰

Ok, off my “ditch Amazon” soap box. Find me if you have questions about this. I’m always down to talk up Amazon alternatives.

Prepare for next year!

Be sure to make a mental note to put this event in your calendar for next year. It will surely be back, and you don’t want to miss it.
