Who wants an indie bookstore in Chadds Ford?
📚 Can we manifest it? + ♻️ easy food waste solution + 🥚Easter egg hunt + more
Who wants to open an indie bookstore in Chadds Ford? 👀
Me! 🥰 Well… I want someone else to do it. 🙏🏼 Pretty please?

I don’t have the bandwidth or expertise to do it, but I would love to see a used and new indie bookstore in Chadds Ford. Don’t you think the Chadds Ford Village and Barn Shoppes would make the perfect spot for it? I don’t know, but it sounds great in my head.
Bookstores aren’t particularly profitable, if they make money at all. Thanks Amazon. 🤬 Maybe the Chadds Ford bookstore is a few bookshelves in an existing space? Maybe it’s a shared retail storefront with an ice cream shop, a donut store, a flower or plant shop, a secondhand clothing store, a sandwich shop, a candy shop, a stationery store, a dessert diner, or a record store?
I don’t have a plan, but if I put it out in the universe, maybe I can manifest it? Anyone want to build the indie bookstore of my dreams in Chadds Ford?
Ok, moving on to the things already happening in town!
Find the Easter eggs!
The township is hosting an Easter egg hunt this Friday, April 11, from 6 to 7 p.m. How fun, right?! 🐰
The little ones from 0 to 4 years old start searching at 6:15 p.m. Kids ages five and older start their hunt at 6:20 p.m. so they don’t steal all the eggs from the preschool group. The township is asking people to register using SignUp Genius. Check out more details on the township website, and grab your baskets while someone else does all the hiding. 🙌🏼
Stay “in know the” in Chadds Ford
Speaking of township activities, have you signed up for the Chadds Ford township newsletter? Once a month, you’ll receive an email newsletter with information from the township packed with details about what’s happening at their office. It’s super helpful and a quick way to skim the local agenda to see if anything stands out to warrant further attention from you! Sign up here!
If you’re like me, you do not have time to attend all the township meetings, but you care about what’s happening. This newsletter is your one-stop shop for staying connected without all the evening meetings on Ring Road.
You can also sign up for Delco Alerts to get notifications about down trees, burn bans, road closures, and other more immediate issues that are good to know! I have signed up for both and think you’ll appreciate them too.

Want to reduce your trash… by a lot?!
April is Earth Month, so let’s talk about showing our local ecosystem a little love. Composting food is good for the planet and a great way to reduce the trash you carry to your bin. Is anyone going to complain about fewer trips to the trash can (like… a lot fewer)?
If you already compost, do a little dance and pat yourself on the back. If mixing messy food waste isn’t your thing or you don’t have space in your yard, let someone else do it for you!
🍌🍎🍊Welcome WasteWell into your kitchen! 🍉🍇🍋
WasteWell is a local curbside composting company that picks up your food waste from your front door or the end of your driveway. Instead of tossing all the food waste in the trash, put it in a 5-gallon bucket that they provide and let them pick it up once every two weeks. While it may surprise you, people who compost cut their trash in half!
Full disclosure: I started WasteWell in 2021 and sold it at the beginning of 2023 to another local owner who is more of an expert in the industry than I am. So I might be a bit biased, but it’s awesome! I am a customer, and it’s so easy to use!
If you want to take a small action with a significant environmental benefit (and limit those annoying runs to the trash bin), check out WasteWell. Use my referral link to get $5 off your first month (or don’t use my referral link if you’d rather not).
Either way, sign up! Spring is an excellent time for new habits.
Speaking of Earth Day…
The Chadds Ford Township Residents Association is partnering with the township to host a two-part Earth Day event for neighbors to meet up and clean up. They’re looking for at least 35-40 neighbors to show our community love while enjoying each other’s company.
Part 1: Meet at the township building and participate in a roadside clean-up from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Part 2: Head to Sunset Hill Preserve for a trail cleanup from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Be one of the first residents to see the new trail coming later this year!
No need to spend the whole day if you’re not available. Join for whatever parts work for your schedule. Kids are welcome! Sign up here for both events to let them know where you’d like to help! Check out the flyer below for more details about the May 3, 2025, event.
P.S. It includes lunch. 😉

🌳The American Battlefield Trust could use your help planting new trees and maintaining the existing ones at Brinton Run Preserve on Saturday, April 26. Are you game?
🕯️Candle making workshop including a glass of wine? So fun!
🪻Who wants to try a restorative sound bath with me? It’s not like a bath in water (that would be very weird to try together). 😶 It’s a reflective and meditative experience. We could all use an hour of pure relaxation right now. Check it out and sign up!
