Make magic for our CFE Chargers
+ 🍊 food drive + 🦃 turkey trot + 🎉 new social media channels
Quick Note: Do you have a plan to vote? The election is on November 4, 2025. All items on the ballot are state and local matters, but that doesn’t make them any less critical than presidential votes. They’re probably more important because our state and local elected leaders make decisions that affect many aspects of our day-to-day lives.
Here’s a comprehensive 2025 Election Center online resource to get you started. And don’t forget that Amy Coney Barrett would probably tell you to vote Yes for retention of our Supreme Court Justices in PA this year. 👩🏻⚖️ The smear campaigns trying to convince you otherwise are laced with lies and misleading claims.
🎉 Let’s get social!
It’s Time! After a year on Substack, I finally started Instagram and Facebook accounts for Connect Chadds Ford. There’s not much on them yet, but follow whichever one is your jam (or both if you’re feeling so inclined). If you know anyone else who might be interested, don’t hesitate to share. The more the merrier!
What could your $5 do? (Or $50, no one’s judging 💵)
Your $5 can make magic for the kiddos in our village. 🪄 Most funding for the Chadds Ford Elementary PTO comes from parents, but it doesn’t have to. The PTO is a 501(c)3, so all donations are tax-deductible.

Next week, the PTO is running a Ready, Set, Charge week to celebrate school spirit and help fund some of the fantastic programs they do each year to build community, support teachers, and ensure the school is a warm and welcoming place for our local kids to learn.
If it’s in your budget, help them achieve their goal of ensuring every student has the best learning experience possible in our local schools; these little nuggets are our future leaders, dreamers, and achievers.
Any size donation is welcome! $5, $50, $5,000 (kidding, but maybe not?). You decide what fits your budget. 🥰

REMINDER: Halloween trunk-or-treats are still taking trunkers!
Can you harness your “handing out Halloween candy” skills on Saturday for the kids?
The trunk-or-treat, co-hosted by the Chadds Ford Township Residents Association and Chadds Ford Elementary PTO, could still use a few more trunks to give out all the treats. If you’re available to drive over and be a treat distributor to little ones in costume, sign up here. You don’t need a fancy trunk decorated to the nines to participate. The event takes place Saturday, Oct 25, from 4:30 – 6:30. If you have questions, contact the crew at [email protected]
☀️ An accidental lobbyist?
Yep! That really happened. If you missed it earlier this week, check out my experience as an accidental lobbyist. Spoiler alert: With the proper guidance, it was easier than I anticipated. You could totally do it for a policy you’re passionate about.
Given the extent of corruption in our government right now, we need as much engagement as possible from good citizens who are trying to do the right thing for our communities. Could that be you? 💖
👟 Slip on your sneakers and trot for food security
Run or walk with the Unionville High School Softball and Baseball teams to raise money for Kennett Area Community Service on Thursday, November 27. You can also bring canned or non-perishable items for the food drive. All ages and skill levels can participate, so slow jogs are welcome! Grab all the details and sign up here.
🍎 Speaking of food security + a special treat 🎃
Earlier this year, the Chadds Ford Democrats hosted a food drive. It was such a success, they’re bringing it back for round deux. Mark your calendars for November 15 and drop off your donations from 9 am – 12 pm at Oso Sweet Bakery.
Just like last time, Oso Sweet has a special treat for the day. Be sure to stop in after you drop your donation to purchase a pumpkin pie croissant! More details in the flyer below.
Can’t make it, but still want to donate? You can donate ca$h-money directly through the KACS website. Bonus points if you leave a little note to let them know the CF Dems food drive sent you. 😉

Looking ahead
