Bringing an indie bookseller to Chadds Ford
Remember how I told you I wanted to manifest an indie bookshop in Chadds Ford. Chadds Friends, I did it! I shared a little teaser in last week’s email newsletter. I got so many questions about this (which tells me people are super interested in a local bookshop)!

My little manifestation is a cute pop-up bookseller coming to the Chadds Ford Village Barn Shops for Second Saturday. Not a full shop… yet… but baby steps. If the community is enthused about it, maybe we can inspire more indie pop-ups in town (or even a permanent indie bookshop eventually).

Indie bookseller event details
Here’s the who, what, where, when, and why of the indie bookseller event coming up in a few weeks. Be there or be square. 😉
Who: Bookcase Books owned by Jo Piazza, a local Philadelphia author (see all her books here). She has a mobile bookshop trailer (that’s up in Maine right now), so she’ll be at a table with all sorts of books available. Ask her what to read; she loves giving personalized book recs!
What: Second Saturday, hosted by The Naked Lady Gallery and Shop (part of the all-day event that includes live music, a reading from Jo Piazza, live drawing, and a variety of other artisan sellers)
Where: Chadds Ford Village Barn Shops

When: Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 9 am – 5 pm. Piazza is reading at 10:30 am from her upcoming book, Parisian Heist. Check the flyer below for more details on other events happening throughout the day.
Why: Who doesn’t love supporting local small businesses and an indie bookseller who’s also a local author?! Also, her books are the 💣. Ok, maybe that’s my reason. What’s yours? Lots of people are excited about it for many reasons, and I hope to see you there.
Mark your calendars and give Jo (and the rest of the Second Saturday sellers) some love. I have read two of her books, The Sicilian Inheritance and Everyone is Lying to You, and loved both! I already pre-ordered The Parisian Heist, which she wrote before the big art heist at The Louvre last fall. Can you believe that serendipity?
Hope to see you there!
