Olivia wants to be your fairy godmother of laundry. She and her husband started The Sudsy Mama in October 2023 to turn your figurative pumpkins of dirty laundry into sparkly carriages of clean clothes and linens.

The Sudsy Mama crew may not have Tinkerbell 🧚🏻 wings, but they have fairy dust detergent and a penchant for turning your dirty laundry piles into folded laundry smiles. So who are these ladies (and one gent) making you feel like Cinderella at the ball?

The Sudsy Mama is a local laundry service based in Kennett Square that serves much of Southern Chester County, parts of Delaware, and has expanded into Chadds Ford and Western Delaware County.

Once you sign up for their services, one of her Sudsy Mamas shows up on your front step and, with a magic laundry wand, turns your soiled shirts and shorts into sparkly, clean, and perfectly folded laundry. 🪄 Rumor has it, they even know how to fold those pesky fitted sheets.

Note to self… That means I’m definitely NOT a Sudsy Mama. 🫠

Olivia and her husband started The Sudsy Mama just before their third child was born. As parents of twins, they knew their way around loads of laundry and understood that it created additional stress for already maxed-out parents. They saw an opportunity to help neighboring parents take one thing off their plates, which might make their lives a little easier.

They acquired their first customers by sharing their service in local community groups on social media and washing laundry in their home. Demand ramped up quickly, requiring them to start hiring other moms who also had fairy dust detergent in their magical laundry rooms along with a desire to clean laundry, meet fellow neighbors, and earn a little bit of extra income with a lot bit of flexibility.

Loving the Sudsy Mama mission and journey

Olivia says she truly loves the work. I mean… who doesn’t love waving a magic wand to make something better for someone else? Just kidding. It’s definitely not that simple.

But she loves the company’s mission to make life a little less stressful for families and small businesses drowning in dirty laundry. For many customers, Olivia says, the relief of taking laundry off their to-do list is life-changing, and she is grateful to help create more space for them to do things instead of laundry.

Become a Sudsy Mama customer
