Oooohhhh Sheetz! 😲 Are you ready for a Sheetz in Chadds Ford?

Sheetz is closing in on Wawa territory big time, and Chadds Ford might be the latest and most aggressive battleground. I’m not a drama girl, but this is drama I’m here for. 🤣

Sheetz has been closing in on Wawa’s home turf for some time. They’re upping the ante with this new proposed location, less than 5 miles down the road from Wawa corporate HQ. Sheetz is on offense, friends.

If Google Maps is correct (and everything on the internet is true 😘), this Sheetz is way closer to Wawa corporate than anything they’ve put on the map to date.

The preliminary sketch plan for a Sheetz in Chadds Ford at 1201 Wilmington Pike (Route 202) was presented at the February 4, 2026, Chadds Ford Township Planning Commission meeting. The proposed location replaces the unoccupied bank and former Carrabba’s restaurant near the AMC movie theater. Most of us know what a Sheetz looks like, but according to the township website:

“The proposal includes a convenience store with made-to-order food and beverages, limited indoor and outdoor seating, two mobile order pick-up windows (no drive-through ordering), and six gasoline pumps. The sketch plan is for conceptual review only and does not represent an approval.” (source)

If you’re not familiar with Sheetz, picture a Wawa with a sliiiightly brighter shade of red for branding, and everything says “S-H-E-E-T-Z” instead of “W-A-W-A.” That’s about the biggest difference. The Wawa and Sheetz stans can duke it out in the comments. 👇🏻

As for development, there are still some issues to work out regarding zoning clarification, traffic design, and neighbors’ concerns about 24/7 operations, as noted in Chadds Ford Live. Presuming the development moves forward, I hope they revisit adding the bus shelter that was considered but ultimately passed on during the recent approval of other development at Painter’s Crossing.

Whether or not Sheetz gets approval to drop its new digs in this specific location, I can’t imagine Wawa is pumped that a half dozen Sheetz gap pumps and a convenience store are threatening to creep so close to corporate.
