Don't throw away your old pill bottles

Quick Reminder: Don’t forget to stop by the Concord Township Farmers’ Market on Sunday between 9 am and 12 pm. All the details here!

Summer takes us all in different directions, so weekly updates may be a little lighter as we spend time traveling, lounging by the pool, indulging in summer reading, and doing all the things a slightly slower time of year allows.

Got extra pill bottles?

Do you have extra pill bottles that you often toss in the trash, even though they still have a lot of life left in them? Local physical therapy provider Action Potential is collecting empty pill bottles through June 30 to be distributed to hospitals and clinics worldwide.

They’re accepting them at all three of their locations (Glen Mills, Kennett Square, and Media). Check their website for addresses (though their Glen Mills location is probably the closest option for most Chadds Ford residents).

Glen Mills address: 1786 Wilmington West Chester Pike, Suite 200A, Glen Mills

They’ve had a great response and will hopefully host another collection in the future. So save your future pill bottles from the landfills and drop them at the next collection event too!

Some Highlights

  • The URA Baseball organization sold 588 golf balls and raised approximately $15,000 for field updates through their Golf Ball Drop fundraiser. I know some of that came from you, so thank you to all who purchased a few chances for Phillies tickets!

  • It’s not too late to sign up and attend this community-building conversation with Elizabeth Moro at Chadds Ford Coffee House on Saturday. Get all the details and a link to register here! Hope to see you there.

  • Need a new workout regimen for summer? Align Fitness offers bespoke fitness plans tailored to each client. Check them out!

Next step toward a new middle school

On Monday, June 16, the school board voted to award the design contract for a potential new middle school to Breslin Architects. Read more below about what some middle school teachers believe a new building could offer that renovations to the current structure cannot achieve.
