Say Yes to STEM with S2STEM

Have you heard of S2STEM? Today, I’m interviewing their founders, Santhi and Saleem Shaik. After several years, they’ve outgrown their old location and recently moved to a new space not far from SkyZone in Glen Mills.
S2STEM started out as coding classes in the community room at the Rachel Kohl Library many years ago. They quickly opened their first location as interest in their classes grew. In response to community needs, their programming has expanded to reflect the interests of young learners. S2STEM offers after-school programs, summer camps, and more on topics such as Minecraft building, LEGO Robotic competitions, CrunchLabs, Pokémon, and more.
The evolution of their offerings reflects the changing landscape of technology as well. I asked them about AI’s growing presence in our lives and our technology, and how that informs what they teach. No matter the specific subject matter, classes and activities maintain a strong focus on critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which are essential in our changing world. Santhi shared their goal of helping kids be creators, not just consumers of tech-focused content.
Check out the video below for an insightful Q&A on S2STEM and how they help families make STEM an engaging part of children’s lives.
